TAXEDU

Newsletter #10 - December 2023

The aim of the TAXEDU portal is to ensure that all European citizens – young and old – are informed about the breadth of services and facilities made possible through tax (education, healthcare, etc.).

What’s your take on the future of taxation?

What’s the right tax mix for the EU over the next 20-30 years? The European Commission held a high-level Tax Symposium in Brussels to answer this question.

The EU strengthens its relationship with Ukraine in taxation

The EU and Ukraine are reinforcing their collaboration. Beginning in September 2022, the Commission has signed an agreement allowing Ukraine to participate in the EU’s Customs and Fiscalis programmes. In addition, from 1 October 2022, Ukraine will join the EU-Common Transit Countries’ Convention.

Have your say on future taxation rules

Are you running a business in the EU? Do you have ideas on how you would like to report on Value Added Tax (VAT)? Find out how to make your voice heard! The Commission is currently organising a public consultation on this very important topic.

Activities across the EU. We’d love to hear from you!

The TAXEDU portal relies on input and contributions of National Tax Authorities and teachers from across the European Union, whose support brings us closer to achieving our objectives.

Pick-and-post catalogue of social media content

TAXEDU is constantly growing its follower base and currently counts more than 17,000 followers on Facebook and another 4,000 on Instagram. Facebook and Instagram campaigns are rolled out regularly as part of TAXEDU's successful strategy to spread the word. By posting content two to three times a week, we ensure that those who follow the TAXEDU accounts on Facebook and Instagram receive all the latest TAXEDU news from across Europe.

Season’s Greetings from TAXEDU

To mark TAXEDU’s 4th anniversary (the portal was launched 17 November 2017), an annual online meeting was held on 29 November. Chaired by DG TAXUD, the meeting was an opportunity to discuss the national initiatives in tax education of young Europeans with the support of the platform, as well as the changes on the portal.

We're helping you spread the word about TAXEDU

Since 2017, the TAXEDU portal has been helping teachers, children, teens and young adults across all EU Member States find the information and resources they need to confidently navigate the often-complicated world of taxation But making sure Europe’s teachers and pupils – from Portugal to Romania and from Sweden to Greece – know about the portal and its useful resources, is a big job! A growing group of TAXEDU promoters are rising to the task by promoting the portal and its tools within their networks.
