Education of children is necessary

Since 2014, the Financial Administration of the Slovak Republic has been a member of the Interdepartmental Expert Group for Financial Literacy managed by the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic. In 2014, we participated in the preparation of a methodological manual for the implementation of the National Financial Literacy Standard for primary and secondary school students and subsequent updates. In the period from June 2016 to June 2018, our customs and tax authorities presented the activities of Financial Administration at approximately 250 educational activities for pupils of kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, universities, orphanages and the public throughout Slovakia. We were most active in the regions of Nitra (46), Žilina (41), Banskobystricky (39) and Trenčín (23). The presentations were seen by more than 30,000 pupils, students and the general public.

Evening classes for the project "Tax and school"

With the project "Tax and school", the Revenue Agency’s offices organize meetings with schools to raise awareness about the importance of paying taxes and supporting public services. The tax officials, often in collaboration with the teachers and students, develop various educational activities to promote the culture of tax legality.

Global Money Week Newsletter

Between 18 and 24 March, Revenue Commissioners (Irish Tax and Customs) participated in Global Money Week (GMW) 2024. Organised by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), GMW is an annual worldwide financial awareness campaign for children and young people. The goal of GMW is to give young people the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to make sound financial decisions and ultimately achieve financial wellbeing and resilience.

TAXEDU helps the first graders get acquainted with the expression "taxes"

18 first grade students from a primary school in Nové Zámky were introduced to the topic of "taxes", with the help of the ‘Too Cute’ video from the TAXEDU website. The students answered questions regarding the meaning of taxes.

Lecture for Teachers on the Possibilities of Using the TaxEdu Platform in Teaching

For a decade, the Financial Administration of the Republic of Slovenia has been striving to raise awareness among young people in Slovenia about the importance of taxes for the social welfare of all citizens. The Financial Administration implemented the project "Tax Literacy for Youth" in primary and secondary schools as well as universities.
