The online connection made it possible, even in limited conditions during the pandemic, for the children from the Kamenica nad Cirochou primary school to become acquainted with the work of the financial administration in Slovakia. Since the planned visits have to been canceled several times due to the pandemic precautions, the pupils of the 8th and the 9th graders joined with the professionals on Thursday, December 9, 2021, via the internet connection. Lt. Col. Mgr. Marián Haršány explained to the students in detail the work of the Prohibitions and Restrictions Department of the Customs Department. The children learned about the seizures of goods infringing intellectual property rights, what is the difference between pirated goods and counterfeit goods and why it is necessary to protect brand ownership. The lecture also included the opportunity to win the Mobility Era game, which is part of the TAXEDU portal promotion campaign. The children listened very carefully and were able to answer the questions about the functioning of financial administration immediately. From now on, they know that they can find answers to many of their questions about taxes and duties on the official FS website. From now on, the duty and the amount of other interesting information about taxes and duties can also be found out more from the videos and educational material on the TAXEDU website (Home | TAXEDU (europa.eu)).
